Fusengbuwa Ruling House Disowns KWAM1 Over Awujale Stool
The Fusengbuwa Ruling House of Ijebuland has formally rejected a membership claim by Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde, popularly known as KWAM1, declaring his submitted lineage form “null and void”.
Ayinde had recently expressed interest in the Awujale of Ijebuland stool, asserting that he is a “bona fide son” of the Fusengbuwa line. However, the ruling house has now dismissed the claim, stating that its internal checks found no evidence linking him to the family.
In a letter dated Thursday and signed by the Chairman and Head of the Family, Otunba Lateef Owoyemi, alongside five senior members, the ruling house confirmed receipt of Ayinde’s form, dated 10 December 2025. They noted that the document had strangely been endorsed two days earlier before KWAM1 by Omoba Adetayo Abayomi Oduneye Eruobodo, who purportedly signed as a family unit head.
The ruling house raised strong objections, stating that the form was not authorised by any recognised representative and that Eruobodo is not a registered member of the Jadiara Royal House, thereby lacking the legitimacy to certify the submission. They further stated that investigations revealed no proof of Ayinde’s ancestry within either the Jadiara Royal House or the Fusengbuwa Ruling House.

“Consequently, the completed linkage lineage form is hereby declared null, void and of no consequence. For the avoidance of doubt, your claim to the membership of the Fusengbuwa Ruling House is rejected,” the letter read.

The controversy centres on a rigorous seven-generation verification process required for eligibility to contest the Awujale stool, amid growing speculation that Ayinde may instead have ancestral ties to the Fidipote ruling house.
The letter was jointly endorsed by Otunba Akinola Odedina, identified as Head of the Jadiara Royal House, and Alhaji Adebisi Quadri, identified as Co-Head.
The Ijebu-Ode Local Government of Ogun State had earlier given the Fusengbuwa Ruling House a 14-day ultimatum to present qualified candidate(s) to fill the vacant stool of Awujale of Ijebu-Ode and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland.
This was contained in a letter dated 2nd November, 2025, addressed to the Head, Fusengbuwa Ruling House and signed by the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon Abiodun Adebanjo, on behalf of the Council Chairman.
Recall that the stool became vacant on the 13th July, 2025, following the passage of Oba Dr Sikiru Kayode Adetona, who reigned for 65 years.
