Fubara Appoints New SSG
THECONSCIENCE NG reports that Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has approved the appointment of Mr. Benibo Anabraba as the Secretary to the State Government (SSG).
A statement issued by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Communications, Honour Kuru Sirawoo, announced that Anabraba will be sworn in today, Monday, October 13, 2025, at 4:00 pm in the State Executive Council Chambers, Government House, Port Harcourt.
Anabraba was the immediate past Commissioner for Housing and among the last set of commissioners appointed by Governor Fubara, screened and confirmed by the Victor Oko-Jumbo-led House of Assembly.
He was also among the commissioners affected by the recent Supreme Court judgment on the political crisis in Rivers State.
Two weeks ago, Governor Fubara formally relieved all cabinet members affected by the court’s decision, retaining only eight commissioners in his cabinet.
Government House sources described Anabraba as a loyal associate of the former SSG, Dr. Tammy Danagogo.
