Dorcas Adeyinka: Court Sets Date for Hearing Defamation, Cyberbullying Case Against Olayinka, Odegbami
THECONSCIENCE NG reports that an Upper Area Court sitting in Ilorin, Kwara State, has scheduled 2 July 2025 for hearing in the case of criminal conspiracy, defamation, cyberbullying, intimidation, and character assassination against Mr Oluwanifemi Olayinka and Princess Tolulope Odegbami, in a suit number UAG/CPR/408.
The defendants were sued by the complainant, Chief Mrs Dorcas Adeyinka, a philanthropist based in the United Kingdom.
Following their failure to appear in court on 28th May, the court issued a warrant for the arrest of the defendants, which has been confirmed by this medium. The warrant instructs that if located, the defendants should be apprehended and taken to the nearest police station.
The application for the warrant was detailed in an originating summons dated 21st May 2025, filed by Mrs Adeyinka’s legal representatives.
Mrs Dorcas Adeyinka has accused Mr Oluwanifemi Olayinka and Princess Tolulope Odegbami of cyberbullying, falsehood, criminal defamation, and character assassination.
This case is connected to the ongoing investigation concerning the death of Mrs Folusho Asimiyu Olayinka, also known as Iya Ibeji, a former beneficiary of Mrs Dorcas Adeyinka’s charity foundation, the Dorcas Adeyinka Empowerment Foundation.
In various videos reviewed by THECONSCIENCE NG, Mr Olayinka, the brother of the late Folusho Asimiyu Olayinka, was heard alleging that assassins were pursuing him at the behest of Mrs Adeyinka, whom he claimed was responsible for his sister’s demise.
In these videos, he further alleged that Mrs Adeyinka intended to take his life in a similar manner to that of his sister.
Mrs Dorcas Adeyinka has encountered significant challenges related to the death of one of the beneficiaries of her charity. She was released from police detention after 21 days, following legal intervention, having been held allegedly on the orders of the Force Police Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, between 29th July and 18th August 2024.
Additionally, both her personal and organisational bank accounts were frozen by the police.
THECONSCIENCE NG has been reliably informed that although the police investigating department of the IRT in Abuja has submitted its report to the police authorities after conducting an inquiry into the matter about one year ago, the case has yet to be formally charged in court.
Meanwhile, Mrs Adeyinka continues to endure cyberbullying and character assassination, particularly on social media, where she has been accused of being responsible for the death of Folusho, a less privileged young mother whom she assisted through her foundation, despite having never met her in person.
