
ICPC Confirms Dangote’s Petition Against NMDPRA CEO, Pledges Prompt Action
The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has confirmed that it has received a formal petition from Africa’s richest man, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, against the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), Alhaji Farouk Ahmed.
The anti-graft agency disclosed that the petition was submitted on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, through Dangote’s legal representatives.
In a statement issued to the media, the ICPC spokesperson, Mr John Okor Odey, said the Commission had begun preliminary processes in line with its statutory responsibilities.
“The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission hereby confirms receipt of a formal petition today, Tuesday, December 16, 2025, from Alhaji Aliko Dangote, through his lawyer, against the CEO of the NMDPRA, Alhaji Farouk Ahmed,” Odey stated.

He assured that the petition would be accorded due attention, stressing that the Commission would handle the matter with the seriousness it deserves.
“The ICPC wishes to assure the public that the petition will be thoroughly investigated in accordance with the law,” he added.
The billionaire had formally petitioned the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) over allegations of corruption, financial impropriety, and abuse of office against the Chief Executive of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), Ahmed Farouk.

The petition, submitted on Tuesday through the billionaire ’s lawyer, Ogwu James Onoja (SAN), was received by the ICPC Chairman, Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu (SAN).
The billionaire industrialist called for the immediate arrest, investigation, and prosecution of the NMDPRA boss.
