The award is not for the richest but for humanists, culture advocates and philanthropists who are putting smiles on faces.
One of the notable winners at the recent 2022 edition is Chief Temitope Ajayi, a popular California, United States based Amazon, philanthropist, social activist and Chairperson Global Connections for Women Foundation (GC4W) popularly known as Mama Diaspora.
Speaking with THECONSCIENCE at the programme, the successful Lagos born Accountant, entrepreneur and Forbes council member, expressed excitement and enthusiasm over the award.
Dogged, gritty and oratorical, the Nigerian American extolled arts and culture, saying
platforms for genuine cultural heritage such as OSRA Award should be taken seriously and supported.
She added: “From what I saw today I was impressed. This award is an unsung hero. It should be celebrated more. It’s so special and the Ori Olokun plaque makes it so unique globally.
She said, “I am very proud of winning this award. I am a descendant of the first born of Oduduwa, the forefather of the Yorubas. So an award in the home of Oduduwa is quite exciting for me. I live in the United States, California. California is about the fifth richest state because of Hollywood.
“I’m so happy seeing young adults going into the arts, culture, entertainment industry. I encourage them to do more. It’s very original and holds huge opportunity for them.”
