Viewers can now save one of the four singing talents on the brink of eviction on the voice Nigeria season 4 as the music reality TV show begins the Battle stage.

The stage requires all talents across different teams to go head-to-head in duets for a chance to advance to the next and final stage called the live shows.

The global weekly talents contest is sponsored by Nigeria’s premier financial institution, FirstBank, in line with its commitment to supporting arts, entertainment and youth development.

At the end of episode eleven following stiff competition in rounds of duet, four talents, including Timi Fierce, Jochebel, Martin and Chika were dropped to the danger zone from team Waje.

Earlier, eight talents in the team had faced one other in four rounds of duet which produced Matthew, David Ikande, Faith, and Tejiri as winners from each of the rounds.

Popular indigenous singer, 9ice was a guest judge on the show as he stood in for rapper, Naeto C.

The first duet featured classic operatic cross over singer and vocal instructor, Matthew against chef and entrepreneurial R&B singer, Timi. They both performed Prayer by David Foster and Celine Dion.

The second duet was between Benue state born professional footballer and instrumentalist, David Ikande, and Jochebel, a model and singer. Rihanna’s We Found Love was jointly performed to the delight of the audience.

Faith and Martin had clashed on another duet with Justin Timberlake’s Suite and Tie. Faith is a voice over artiste and songwriter while Martin trades in music production for films. It was apparently coach Waje’s best for the night as she was on her feet grooving while it lasted.

For Coach Praiz, the last duet for the episode between Chika and Tejiri was the most believable with great connection. The talents had sang the classic Beauty and the Beast by Celine Dion and Paablo Bryson and he had great commendations for the singers. Chika is a civil engineer and actor while Tejiri is a Karaoke lover.

Superstar musicians – Niyola, Naeto C, Waje and Praiz, feature both as coaches and judges for the talents while movie star, Kate Henshaw anchors the show.

Folake Ani-Mumuney, FirstBank’s Group Head, Marketing and Corporate Communications said the lending giant has given voice to Nigerians for the past 129 years, and will continue to give voice to Nigerians by creating employment, economic empowerment in the country through its products, services and initiatives and it remains committed to strengthening the creative industry which is fast growing into a multi billion-dollar business, with potential to be a leading contributor to Nigeria’s GDP in the near future.
