Bandits Invade Quarters Behind Popular University, Kidnap 4 Students
No fewer than four students residing at the Paris Quarters behind the Federal University, Dutsinma, in Katsina State, have been abducted by suspected bandits.
A resident told our correspondent on Sunday that the incident took place on Sunday at about 2:20 a.m when the hoodlums in their numbers, armed with sophisticated weapons including AK-47 rifles, invaded the area in disguise and whisked away four persons.
Although the police spokesman in the state, DSP Abubakar Sadiq, and government officials were yet to respond to inquiries by our correspondent, it was gathered that security operatives were immediately mobilised to the scene after receiving a distress call, but the hoodlums had already fled.
It is hoped that efforts are on top gear to track down the abductors and rescue the victims unhurt.
Dutsinma, is one of the security frontline local government areas in Katsina State grappling with banditry and cattle rustling despite security and government intervention to restore peace in the area.
