
Bandits Attack Catholic School In Niger, kidnap Students, Staff
Barely four days after the abduction of schoolgirls from Government Girls Comprehensive School in Kebbi State, bandits again stormed Mary’s School, a Catholic institution in the Papiri community, Agwara Local Government Area of Niger State, and abducted an unspecified number of students and staff.
A source close to the school disclosed that the bandits in their large number attacked the school in the early hours of Friday at about 3:00 am and forced the students and some staff to the waiting vehicles at gunpoint.
The source further stated that the actual number of students and staff abducted is yet to be ascertained, as the school authority is still compiling the names of those abducted.
Though the police are yet to give official confirmation, the Head of Department, Disaster and Relief, Agwara Local Government, Ahmed Abdullahi Rofia, confirmed the attack via telephone.
