THECONSCIENCE NG reports that Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Ayra Starr has clinched the coveted Best International Act award at the 2025 BET Awards, held Monday night at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
The 22-year-old star triumphed over fierce competition from fellow African music heavyweights, including South Africa’s Tyla, Nigeria’s Rema, and Ghana’s Black Sherif. Her win highlights the continued rise and global recognition of African music, particularly the Afrobeats genre.
