Respected legal luminary and Chairman of Presidential Advisory Committee against Corruption, PACAC, Prof. Itse Sagay, has endorsed the establishment of Operation Amotekun by Southwest Governors, insisting that the move was in order.
Countering the position of the Attorney General, Abubakar Malami who had declared the outfit illegal, Sagay insisted that Amotekun was legal and was in line with the Constitutional role of the Governors.
Recall that Governors from Oyo, Ogun, Osun, Ondo, Ekiti, and Lagos States had last week Thursday, in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital launched a Security Outfit called Amotekun.
However, the PACAC Chairman said the Police lacked adequate manpower to effectively secure a Country of nearly 200 Million people, hence the establishment of Amotekun was in order.
