Colleagues, friends and family members have paid glowing tributes to Engr. Mrs Aderonke Adeyemi, at a surprise party held to celebrate the erudite academic and accomplished civil engineer as she clocked 60th on Friday, August 27th, 2021.

Engr. Adeyemi who lectures at the prestigious Yaba College of Technology is a former Head of the Department of Civil Engineering, and immediate past Dean of School of Civil and Natural Resources Engineering where she rose to the highest lecturer cadre.

It was a great moment of joy and unlimited happiness when well-wishers and family members gathered at the RiverView Estate axis of Isheri community in Ogun State, off the Lagos Ibadan Express Road to celebrate the YABATECH don.

The visibly elated celebrant who was beaming with smiles throughout the event was in high spirit as she sang songs after songs in appreciation to the Almighty God for the grace to mark six decades in good health and happiness.

The celebrant’s husband, who is also an engineer, Elder Soji Adeyemi led others to shower prayers and encomiums on the celebrant whom he described as “his first real love, sunshine and companion.”

The amiable and soft-spoken gentleman prayed for God to bless his wife beyond measures and grant her happiness and joy like a river.

Representing the YABATECH community at the Surprise Party, Engr. Dr. M.A. Onasanya, the Dean of the School of Engineering, extolled the great virtues of the celebrant whom he called “a mother, sister, mentor and senior colleague.”

Onasanya said she is easy to relate with and always willing to share burdens with others. “Engr. Aderonke Adeyemi comes across as very compassionate and pleasant. Her work ethic is characterised by hard work and dedication. Over the years, she has proven to be a worthy model and inspiration to many younger ones, and she’s much loved by students, colleagues and family.”
