Youth and culture promoter, Idris Coker Iwalewa has congratulated Alhaji Abdulsamad Rabiu, the billionaire businessman, industrialist, philanthropist and Founder/Chairman, BUA Group of Companies, on his 61st birthday on August 4.

Coker, who is the convener of Go Culture, a Nigerian multicultural group that promotes indigenous African cultures and values through colourful carnivals, reorientation and advocacy events, described the billionaire as a true African icon of success, leadership, decency and philanthropy.

In a media chat on Wednesday, Coker stated that, “Alhaji Abdulsamad Rabiu’s immense contributions and assistance for so many organizations and institutions are legendary as he continues to support impactful visions and causes over the years.

The culture advocate added that “As a renowned Industrialist, entrepreneur and philanthropist, you have endeared yourself to all and sundry. You are certainly head and shoulder above your contemporaries in words and action.

“Your contributions give us encouragement and excitement and since then the sky has been the limit. We will never forget.”

Commenting further on Alhaji Abdulsamad  Rabiu’s contributions towards the fight against COVID-19, he noted that “It is on record that during the COVID – 19 pandemic you spent millions and other resources to ensure distribution of relief materials to the needy at a time when the country was on lockdown.

“You have also come to the rescue of thousands of youths through various empowerments programmes, wiping tears from the faces of the distress. As a committed patriot, you have embarked on various projects which are crucial and beneficial to the youths of the country.”

“Apart from your heavyweight financial contributions to the fight against COVID -19, your face and voice were always on CNN and other media platform rallying Nigerians, Africans and their leaders to face the pandemic squarely. You were indeed a voice of wisdom and encouragement at a time when there was much despair and it helped tremendously.

“As the pandemic slowed down, you came up with the AbdulSamad Rabiu Initiative for Africa with a Fund endowment of USD100million every year starting from 2021;

“You have set for yourself a daunting task of spending 100million Dollars Annually for the development of Africa – USD 50million for our dear Nigeria and another USD 50million for the rest of our beloved continent.

“In a short while, you already touched Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Universities of Maiduguri, Benin, Ibadan, Ilorin respectively with 1Billion Naira each.

“States beneficiaries also include Kwara, Akwa Ibom, Ogun, FCT with grants running into billions of Naira while another 4 states are expected to benefit soon.

“Ghana has also recently received 3 Million dollars towards improving education, a gift that the West African nation received with open arms courtesy Abdulsamad Rabiu largesse.

“On behalf of millions of Nigerian youths, who hold you in high esteem, we wish to congratulate and commend your giant strides on your 61st birthday anniversary.

“It is our fervent prayer that the Almighty Allah in his mercies will continue to enrich, protect, guide and guard you in your various programme and activities”, Coker concluded.
