Court jails Adesanya Paul for fraud

A Special Offences Court in Lagos, has convicted and sentenced Adesanya Olufemi Paul to 21 years Imprisonment over N37 million fraud.

Though the long arm of justice may seem to grind slowly it definitely catches us with criminal elements and retributive justice snaps up to take its course just when criminals think they have escaped the long arm of the law.

Adesanya Paul, is a fraudster and blackmailer who takes advantage of love-hungry women to swindle and destroy.

He had defrauded an American-based Nigerian lady, Mrs. Toyin Akinwole to the tune of N40 million and even attempted to blackmail her with nude pictures to cover up his crime before the anti-graft agency, EFCC, got involved and brought him to justice. The lady was alleged to have attempted suicide owing to the trauma she went through though she later denied this on her social media handle.

She then sentenced him to 21 years Imprisonment over the charges on Friday, September 11.

The EFCC had charged the convict before Court on the three counts charges contrary to and punishable under sections 1(1) and 1(3) of the Advance Fee Fraud Act and 278 and 285 of criminal law of Lagos State.

The EFCC had told the court that its investigation revealed that the Convict and the complainant were not lovers as it was widely claimed as “She’s US based, married with three kids and living in Texas. Her husband is Tunde who works or used to work with Access Bank in Lagos.”

On Saturday, 9th of June, 2018, the woman drove herself to the bridge, parked her Ford SUV van on the 3rd Mainland Bridge and jumped inside the lagoon on a mission which was a resultant effect of the blackmail”
