SMEs, Attendees Applaud Visibility, Experience at GTCO Food Festival
The ongoing GTCO Food & Drink Festival has continued to reinforce its status as a premier platform for small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs), with vendors highlighting strong brand exposure and attendees praising the overall experience.
From Friday through Sunday, the festival has attracted large crowds, creating a vibrant marketplace where food entrepreneurs connect directly with consumers while showcasing their offerings.
For participating SMEs, the event is proving to be a strategic growth opportunity. Segun Morountonu, General Manager of Sophisticated Wobia, described the festival as a powerful avenue for expanding customer reach.

“This is our second year participating, and our focus is on showcasing our range of pastries, drinks, and savory products,” he said. “Our cakes, in particular, create strong customer loyalty once people taste them.”
Morountonu explained that the festival serves as a key marketing platform, enabling the brand to attract new customers and drive traffic to its permanent store.
With the event aligning with the Workers’ Day weekend, he expressed confidence in strong turnout and increased sales, adding that the use of samples helps convert first-time tasters into repeat customers.
Also sharing a success story is Ajara Foods, led by Dolapo Daramola, who described the festival as transformative for emerging businesses.
“We launched just last year and sold out within four months. Now, people know our brand, follow us, and keep coming back,” she said. “This platform connects us directly with customers and gives us visibility that would otherwise be extremely costly.”
Daramola emphasized that the festival offers SMEs a rare opportunity to scale visibility without financial barriers, describing it as a “mighty opportunity” that enables businesses to grow, attract loyal customers, and meet rising demand.
Attendees, on their part, have continued to commend the event’s organization and consistency. Qudus Adeniji, a regular visitor of three to four years, described this year’s experience as “good” and “fantastic.”
“The setup is always impressive, movement is smooth, and you can see improvements every year,” he said, noting that the festival remains a must-attend annual experience.
