I Came from New Jersey to Experience GTCO Food and Drink Festival, and I Am So Thrilled – Ogunyemi
Ope Ogunyemi, a New Jersey-based Nigerian, has expressed delight over her experience at the 2025 GTCO Food and Drink Festival, describing the event as far exceeding her expectations.
Speaking with journalists at the venue on Sunday, Ogunyemi said she travelled from the United States with her children specifically to participate in the festival and was not disappointed.
“This is my first time at the GTCO Food and Drink Festival and the experience has been awesome. I am visiting from the United States and I heard about the programme, which was one of the reasons for my trip,” she said.
Ogunyemi noted that she initially assumed the event would be held outdoors but was pleasantly surprised by the comfort of the arena.

“I was coming from church and thought the programme was going to be outdoors, but I was amazed by the venue, the air conditioning and the overall comfort. I am thrilled. It is my first time at this annual event and I am so excited,” she added.
She recalled attending the GTCO Fashion Weekend earlier in the year, describing it as equally impressive.
“The GTCO Fashion Weekend was amazing too, so I already had high expectations,” she said.
Commending the quality of food and organisation, Ogunyemi said the experience was enjoyable for both adults and children.
“The quality of the food was very good. My kids and I had fries and chicken, and the vendors were amazing. As we moved around, they approached us politely, met our needs and took our orders professionally,” she stated.
She added that her family was also looking forward to exploring the children’s arena to enjoy more activities.
“This event is amazing. It is all over the internet — I saw it online and now I have experienced it firsthand. GTCO is doing an amazing job and everyone should emulate what GTCO is doing,” she said.
When asked to compare the festival with similar events in the United States, Ogunyemi said she would always stand by Nigeria.
“I will support everything Nigeria any day. Naija to the core,” she declared.
