Sujimoto CEO Declared Wanted Over Explosive Money Laundering Scandal
THECONSCIENCE NG reports that the Nigeria’s anti-corruption campaign has taken a dramatic twist as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared Olasubomi Suji Ogundele, the flamboyant Chief Executive Officer of luxury real estate firm Sujimoto, wanted for alleged money laundering and diversion of funds amounting to several billions of naira.
In an official notice published across its verified platforms, the EFCC called on members of the public, both in Nigeria and abroad, to assist in locating Ogundele. The agency stated that he is under investigation for suspicious financial activities and the alleged misappropriation of investors’ funds intended for high-end real estate projects.
“Anyone with useful information on the whereabouts of Olasubomi Ogundele should report immediately to the nearest EFCC office or police station nationwide,” the Commission urged in the public alert.
While full details of the investigation are yet to be released, sources within the EFCC suggest that the case involves complex financial transactions, the use of shell companies, and offshore accounts allegedly linked to Ogundele. Investigators believe the scheme could be one of the most daring cases of corporate fraud in Nigeria’s luxury property sector.
Ogundele, well-known for his lavish lifestyle and portfolio of upscale developments in Lagos and Abuja, has reportedly gone underground. His sudden disappearance has heightened public curiosity and speculation about the scale of the alleged financial misconduct.
This development marks another high-profile case in the EFCC’s ongoing crackdown on corporate executives suspected of misappropriating public and private funds under the guise of legitimate business ventures. The Commission reiterated its commitment to holding all individuals accountable, regardless of their status or influence.
