FirstBank Unveils FirstMonie Merchant Solution to Empower Nigerian Businesses
For traders in bustling markets and shop owners in small towns, accepting payments just became easier. THECONSCIENCE NG reports that FirstBank has launched the FirstMonie Merchant Solution, a digital payment platform designed to help Nigerian businesses of all sizes collect money seamlessly and securely.
From instant settlement to ready-to-use POS terminals, the solution offers tools that merchants often struggle to access. Features include “Pay with Transfer,” flexible pricing, automated onboarding, and real-time monitoring — all aimed at reducing disputes and giving businesses more control over their finances.
For many merchants, delayed payments or chargebacks can mean losing stock or trust from customers. With FirstMonie, those worries are being eased. “This is not merely a product introduction; we are simplifying payment processes and giving merchants transparency, control, and speed,” said Chuma Ezirim, Group Executive, E-Business and Retail Products at FirstBank.

Access is simple: new or existing FirstBank account holders can register online to get started. The solution also assures merchants of fund security, something not all fintech alternatives guarantee.
With a legacy stretching back 131 years, FirstBank says the new platform reflects its mission to expand financial inclusion and support Nigeria’s digital economy. Backed by its network of over 300,000 FirstMonie agents, the bank hopes the initiative will empower everyday business owners — from roadside vendors to supermarket chains — to thrive in a cash-light future.
