THECONSCIENCE NG reports that Two people have died after a Toyota Camry saloon car plunged into the Lagos Lagoon from the 3rd Mainland Bridge in the early hours of Saturday, August 23, 2025.

The incident, which occurred inward Iyana Iworo, sparked a swift multi-agency response involving the Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA), the Marine Police, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), and the Rapid Response Squad (RRS).

Local fishermen and divers also played a vital role in the search and rescue effort.

The Lagos State Waterways Authority confirmed that the vehicle carried two occupants.
