Waje Showcases Team at Knockout, Picks Seven for battles stage

It was a beautiful mix of electrifying performances and emotions when singer Aituaje Iruobe, popularly known as Waje had her twelve-member team showcase their talents individually to the delight of viewers during the episode seven of the ongoing the voice Nigeria 4.

The global music talents tv reality show currently in the Knockouts stage is sponsored in Nigeria by First Bank as part of its arts, entertainment and youth development interventions.

Waje had during the week coached the singing talents separately, guiding them on how to give the best professional deliveries of their chosen songs.

While the performances lasted at the weekend she obviously had tough moments struggling to choose the best seven from the pack to proceed to the next stage called Battles.

She eventually chose Tejiri, Faith, David, Martin and Chika from the lot.

Meanwhile, she lost Stephen and Deborah to Praiz and Niyola respectively while attempting to send both to the dangers zone to allow her compare their performances with others.

She later saved Matthew and Jochebel from the danger zone just before the episode ended.

Tejiri had opened the episode with a melodious and captivating performance of Andra Day’s Rise Up followed up by Faith who serenaded viewers with a breathtaking rendition of Johnny Drille’s Count on You, presenting a rose flower to Waje. David also gave a fantastic rendition of Alica Keys’ Fallin

Stephen had a shaky start to a performance that was otherwise impressive. With a rich voice, he delivered Lionel Richie’s Stuck on You but was about to be shipped to the danger zone when Praiz grabbed him.

Same scenario played out with Deborah who sang Nico & Vinz’s Am I Wrong? The talent was swiftly stolen by Niyola while about to be sent to the danger zone.

Martin was in a different world when he gave a soul touching performance of Josh Groban’s You Raise Me Up which got coaches up on their feet and pouring encomiums.

A soothing performance of The Greatest Showman’s This is Me was also good enough to see Matthew to the Battles.

The show’s innovative format features four stages of competition: the Blind Auditions, Knockouts, Battles and Live Shows.
