PDP, Saraki should bury their heads in shame,' netizens fume over allegations against Gov Abdulrazaq

‘PDP, Saraki should bury their heads in shame,’ netizens fume over allegations against Gov Abdulrazaq

Thousands of Nigerians have taken to social media to knock the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara and the former senate president Senator Bukola Saraki over the false allegations levelled against Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara state.

Members of the opposition party, PDP, had taken to various social media outlets on Saturday to allege that the ruling party All Progressives Congress (APC) denied them access to use the metropolitan square to host their presidential rally in the state.

But reacting to the allegations on Sunday via a series of tweets, Special Assistant to the Governor on Communication, Ibraheem Abdullateef, dismissed the claims as false news against the governor to score cheap political points.

“PDP was not denied venue in Kwara. They initially requested to use the facility on Nov 14, which was granted. Meanwhile @OfficialAPCNg had similarly sought to use it on Nov 17, 21, & 22. When PDP changed its date to 17, it could not be granted again because of a pre-booked event,” Abdullateef tweeted attaching the letter of approval earlier given to the PDP.

“This administration is not given to vindictiveness. Members of the PDP are advised to stop spreading false news about the governor and @followKWSG to score cheap political points. Kwara is not an inheritance or private property of anyone,” he concluded.

Following the clarifications, many people described as shameful and irresponsible the conduct of the PDP and followers of Saraki in spreading false allegations and misleading information against the Kwara governor.

Some of the tweets can be seen below:

@dannyolu:

“@OfficialPDPNig and @bukolasaraki should bury their heads in shame 🤦🏽.”

@AhnedBola:

“I knew it from the moment I read there fake news about the denied access but am not surprised because it part there game. They are found fathers of fake news and am very happy that kwarans are now wise.”

@AdamsonNasir:

“The PDP government who ruled with impunity and clamps on opposition for roughly 2 decades. The party Pdp would have sanctioned stations like AriseTv and Tvc and of course denied access to oppositions anywhere. Now cry Wolf, purportedly design to defame us with cooked up lies.”

@Akeredoluola1:

“The more opposition spread political propaganda about @OfficialAPCNg @officialABAT, the more we spread like fire. On @officialABAT Mandate we shall stand.”

@massiveccfr:

“Next thing they would say Apc denied pdp bla bla lol same thing happened in Osun we no hear word again 😜😜😜 pdp and their falsehood tactics is second to none.”

@ololaiju2:

“I was wondering why deny a flickering candle about to be blown by the breeze of @OfficialAPCNg a last dance in the Ilorin Metropolitan square , let them use it on 14th or find another date unbooked.”

Some social media users also took to Facebook to air their views:

Salami Adebayo:

“These people doesn’t have good life than to he telling lies since 1999 they have been lying and they are not even ready to change chai God come and have mercy on them.”

Clement Oluwole:

“Propaganda is a way of life for PDP.”

Yunus Quadri:

“It has been their way for decades, they can never change.”
