The Voice Nigeria 3: Yemi Alade’s Three Talents Survive Knockout Stage

The Voice Nigeria: Three victorious contestants in Yemi Alade’s team – Vanilla, Kitay and Toscene have moved on as the first three to reach the next stage tagged Battlefield in the ongoing The Voice Nigeria reality talents show, following their outstanding performances.

Two of the trio who emerged from episode 7 of Season 3 won their seats at the next stage following impressive performances while Coach Yemi later saved another contestant to complete the team of three to represent Team Yemi as the reality talents show heats up into the final episodes.

An emotional Vanilla who broke down in tears during the rehearsals won her slot in the battleground stage with her dogged performance of Titanium by Sia, while Kitay, the last performer in the rounds warmed the judges’ hearts with his carnival like performance of a personalized version of Laye by Kiss Daniel, getting all judges up on their feet dancing to the tune.  Toscene, the first performer who sang “What Now” by Rihanna but didn’t quite impress Yemi Alade was then saved to complete the trio.

Loven who sang Wande Coal’s Away with a touch of Fuji music, Ewa who sang Dangerous Woman by Ariane Grande and an unlucky Tim Ayo who sang Love Riddim by Rotimi failed to proceed.

In the next episode 8 of The Voice Nigeria Season 3, Coach Falz would be on the spotlight to train and pick the best 3 after performances as another set of six contestants would fight for the 3 available tickets and either advance to the battleground stage to join Team Alade’s trio or out.

During the episode, Coach Yemi gave an amazing account of herself making the tough calls picking the top 3 from an array of fine talents, after helping them work through their songs, inspiring and drilling them. She also seemed to be fond of nick names as she appeared to have one for almost all, and so created a good bond and rapport with her team.

The other coaches – Waje, Falz and Darey were also on point and were on hand to give frank remarks and encouragements, with Falz occasionally throwing up his hilarious innuendoes and rhetorical questions, and the show’s headline sponsor, FirstBank promising to reward viewers via its ongoing “Answer Questions and Win Prizes” engagements on its social media handles, and all giving viewers a truly enjoyable experience as the week ended on the show.
