4 Dies In Ondo Cult Clashes
Four persons have been killed in a clash between two suspected cult groups in Owo, the headquarters of Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
According to sources in the locality, one of the victims, 52-year-old Fisayo Oladipupo, a former youth leader of the APC in Owo LGA was shot dead in the early hours of Monday (today) by assailants suspected to be cultists.
Oladipupo’s remains have since been deposited at the morgue of the Federal Medical Centre in Owo.
The Spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, confirmed the incident. She noted that four persons have been killed in the clash.
She stated that the police is yet to establish whether an APC chieftain is one of the victims, adding that with the intervention of police team dispatched, normalcy has returned to the area.
