THECONSCIENCE NG reports that Peter Okoye, one-half of the defunct musical duo, Psquare, has said he now earns more as a solo artiste than he did during his time with the group, which included their elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye.

Peter, aka Mr P, made the remarks in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, in response to a statement issued on Friday by Jude.

“I now earn on my own as a solo artiste today more than what I used to earn after splitting three ways as Psquare, plus the so-called manager.

“I’m talking about both shows and endorsements. It really makes me question, What’s the point of sharing with people who stole from you, betrayed you, and still discriminate against your efforts?” Peter wrote.

Describing his solo career as “more rewarding and profitable, both financially and personally,” Peter added that the move brought him “peace of mind”.

“I have stopped playing nice and being the mature one while getting disrespected,” he said.

He also accused Jude of badmouthing him to EFCC officials, which he claimed contributed to Jude’s eventual arrest and detention.

“These are the exact same words you told the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) officials. And you ended up getting locked up in prison. Of course, you have to come up with another narrative.”

Peter, in his Monday post, insisted the family had yet to answer the core question

He said, “Despite we are in court! Una never still answers the question, Una thief abi una no thief?”

Peter’s post was a direct reply to Jude Okoye’s Instagram statement on Friday, in which the music executive accused Peter, singer Cynthia Morgan, and others formerly under his management of betrayal and ingratitude.

“They were big, influential and successful when I was shouldering them with my platform until they got greedy and wanted to eat alone and so left. Years down the line, they fell off the wagon and became broke, and instead of accepting responsibility… they are pointing fingers at the same person they left,” Jude wrote.

The music executive denied any financial wrongdoing, challenging his accusers to specify his offence and accusing them of fabricating allegations to have him jailed.

“They can’t specifically mention what wrongs were done to them, how and where. They concocted and fabricated lies, attached money laundering and fraud to my name to get me jailed… But to their surprise, I sat it out for two months,” the Psquare ex-manager had stated.

The renewed clash follows earlier claims by singer Cynthia Morgan, a former Northside signee, who alleged in early June that Peter Okoye once distanced himself from her struggles.

She said she was hurt after he told her his online support at the time was not personal but only aligned with his narrative against Jude.

This latest exchange also comes amid an ongoing legal battle between Jude and the EFCC, which arraigned him in February 2025 on multiple counts of money laundering.

According to court filings, Jude and his company, Northside Music Ltd, allegedly dishonestly converted over $1 million in royalties—funds said to have been paid by companies such as Lex Records, Kobalt Music, and Mtech Limited, related to Psquare’s music catalogue.

One of the charges claims that Jude used proceeds from these funds to acquire a luxury property worth ₦850 million in Ikoyi, Lagos.

Another count alleges that Jude converted over $1 million through a Bureau De Change and distributed the funds across various bank accounts to conceal their source.

He has denied all allegations and pleaded not guilty.

The family’s internal dispute became public again in August 2024, when Paul Okoye (Rudeboy) confirmed that Psquare had split permanently.

The twin brothers initially parted ways in 2017, reunited briefly in 2021, but have since gone their separate ways over unresolved issues around royalties and control of their music assets.
