Police Kill 7 Kidnappers, Arrest 5 Suspects In Delta, Kaduna
THECONSCIENCE NG reports that the Nigeria Police Force has killed seven suspected kidnappers and arrested five alleged armed robbers in separate operations carried out in Delta and Kaduna States.
The Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday, highlighting the police’s intensified intelligence-led operations and strengthened collaboration with local security groups.
According to the statement, on June 4, 2025, operatives of the Delta State Police Command, acting on credible intelligence and supported by local vigilantes and anti-cult volunteers, engaged suspected kidnappers along the Abraka Railway axis. A gun battle ensued, resulting in the death of four suspects. An AK-47 rifle and 13 rounds of live ammunition were recovered at the scene.
In a separate operation, the Command’s CP-Special Assignment Team intercepted a shuttle bus near Ewhereni Junction along the Ughelli–Patani Road, leading to the arrest of additional suspects.
Commending the operatives involved, the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, praised their swift response and effective use of intelligence. He also reiterated the importance of public cooperation and urged citizens to continue sharing timely and actionable information to aid ongoing efforts in securing communities.
