Why Some Kwara Workers Haven’t Received November Salary – Commissioner

The Kwara State Government has reacted to the disquiet in the state over non payment of salaries to some civil servants.

The Government explained that some workers in the state have yet to receive their November 2024 salary due to their failure to complete the mandatory registration with the Kwara State Resident Registration Agency.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Finance, Commissioner Dr Hauwa Nuru, represented by Babatunde Abdulrasheed, Press Secretary of the Ministry, said, “Many state government workers have received their November salary, with others still being credited, except for those who have not completed their registration with the Kwara State Resident Registration Agency (KWSRRA), as previously instructed.”

The government had announced on November 11 that salary and bonuses for the month would only be disbursed to workers who had completed their KWSRRA registration, which had been open for over six months.

The statement issued on Monday said the Commissioner urged state workers who had not received their payment to visit the nearest KWSRRA office to resolve any outstanding issues.

“The state government has begun disbursing the November salary, with many workers already receiving it across various MDAs. The bonus will follow shortly as before,” she said.

“As this is the first salary disbursement since the KWSRRA registration was implemented, the disbursement is being done in batches. The government is carefully inputting the updated data and biometrics of each worker into the payroll. This exercise is aimed at encouraging data-driven planning and resource allocation, strengthening payroll integrity, enhancing efficiency and public accountability, and promoting public safety.”

The statement further noted that local government workers and SUBEB teachers have already received their payments following KWSRRA clearance.
