How Seme Customs Command Recorded Highest Revenue, ₦15.6 Bn in 2025 – Comptroller Adenuga
Seme Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has closed 2025 on a historic note, achieving a record-breaking revenue collection of ₦15.6 billion, the highest since the Command’s establishment. The milestone was largely credited to effective technology deployment and strategic operational reforms.
According to a statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Tunde Ayagbalo, the Command generated a total of ₦15,598,945,794 between January and December 2025, representing a 117% increase over the ₦7.16 billion collected in 2024. December alone was a landmark month, with ₦3.63 billion recorded — the highest monthly revenue in the Command’s history.
The surge in earnings was driven by the successful implementation of the One-Stop Shop (OSS) initiative, introduced by the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi. The program enhanced inter-agency coordination, strengthened stakeholder engagement, and boosted trade facilitation across the Seme corridor.
Beyond revenue, the Command intensified its anti-smuggling operations, achieving notable interceptions including 685 parcels of cannabis sativa, 495 packs of Tramadol, and 2,000 packs of Super Power Sildenafil tablets. These results were achieved through intelligence-led operations, risk profiling, and collaboration with other security agencies.
Area Controller Comptroller Wale Adenuga reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to cracking down on smugglers, warning that offenders would face strict prosecution. He highlighted the critical role of advanced intelligence, technology, and continuous vigilance in sustaining operational excellence.
Adenuga also commended the support of stakeholders — including sister agencies, security operatives, and the media — and pledged even greater achievements for 2026.
