“Governor Obaseki Will Win Convincingly” – Edo Leaders

Governor Obaseki at a campaign in Edo State, Nigeria

Governor Obaseki of Edo State has been touted to win the September 19 governorship election in the state if the support of notable leaders counts.

“Since about 80% of the voters in Edo State are supporters of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Governor Godwin Obaseki is as good as through to the governorship victory and will therefore continue at Osadebe House” Edo State leaders said on Tuesday, TheConscience reports.

The leaders heaped praises on Governor Godwin Obaseki for his pragmatic approach to governance and for delivering dividends of democracy to the people.

“We thank God for the life If the governor for doing our generation proud.”

TRising from a meeting in Lagos, the leaders unanimously agreed that Governor Obaseki has delivered on his stewardship as a Governor by putting the people first, therefore, deserves another term.

“Governor Godwin Obaseki performed excellently. He used his contacts to bring in investors to our state and has used technology to improve productivity. He also reduced unemployment in the state.”

The chairman of Obaseki-Shaibu Victory Movement (OSVM), Chief John Obanor, in a statement in Lagos said the leaders endorsed Obaseki for making Edo State a good reference point on accountability, tele-governance and development

This online newspaper gathers that the leaders commended Governor Obaseki for pursuing in the state the policies and principles of women empowerment, providing the enabling environment for the emergence of small scale and intermediate industries and shifting resources to the local government areas for positive efforts in roads, health, water and educational infrastructure.

The leaders from the three senatorial districts highlighted geo-political balancing, good governance, quality and better leadership in the last forty five months in the state.

“We have a brilliant, clever, focused and purposeful governor in Edo State. Governor Godwin Obaseki is always thirsty for legacies”, the leaders said.

A former governor of Edo State, former ministers and National Assembly members were in attendance.
