Details of N1.78tr FCT Budget Tinubu Presented to NASS
THECONSCIENCE NG reports that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has submitted a budget proposal of N1,783,823,708,309 for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) for the 2025 fiscal year to the National Assembly for consideration and approval.
The budget presentation was conveyed through a letter from the President, which was read on the floor of the House by Speaker Tajudeen Abbas. President Tinubu noted that the submission aligns with Section 299 of the Nigerian Constitution, which grants legislative authority over the FCT to the National Assembly.
According to the President, the 2025 FCT budget will focus on key areas such as healthcare, job creation, social welfare, agricultural productivity, and capital development.
He further stated that 85 percent of the capital expenditure would be allocated to the completion of ongoing projects, while the remaining 15 percent would fund new initiatives.
President Tinubu urged lawmakers to give the proposal prompt consideration and facilitate its timely passage.
