The gifts, which were presented to her by her fan base, included a Bible worth ₦87,500, ₦1 million each for her and her mother, luxury hair valued at ₦2.35 million, Rene Caovilla heels worth ₦3.09 million, and Aquazzura heels costing ₦699,900. Other items on the list included a Jimmy Choo Rose Passion perfume worth ₦234,859, Parfums De Marly Delina Exclusif perfume worth ₦435,000, a private Pilates session at Oma The Spa worth ₦200,000, and spa vouchers for Dede and her mum worth ₦352,800 each.

The fans also gifted her a ₦300,000 grocery voucher from Delis Supermarket, a ₦902,500 shopping voucher for customised outfits from Ewongho, scarves from Elan Scarves worth ₦130,000, a blush set from Beauty by AD, and activewear from Berbiebeauty and MnM Luxury worth ₦244,700 and ₦103,500 respectively. Altogether, the total value of the birthday surprise amounted to ₦44,720,980.

The grand gesture has stirred online reactions, with fans and social media users expressing disbelief at how much was spent, while others questioned the priorities of such generous fan bases.

One user, @purple_raiin, commented, “People that couldn’t vote all of a sudden raised ₦30m. Dede, I love you but this zobo is really cold.” Another user, @everythingalluringlingerie, said, “Most of these fans would not even contribute to help a family member, but they do it for a complete stranger.”

Similarly, @stella_acs_ joked, “Is there really hardship in this country?” while @fateemah_ayah noted, “No single wow on her face for ₦30m and all these luxury items, we hope this is not staged.”

Another commenter, @simi_darl, wrote, “You mean people contributed ₦44m?”

Despite the criticism, Dede’s fans seemed proud of their effort, saying it was their way of celebrating her journey and success since her time on the reality show.
