Award Winning Singer Reveals Iyabo Ojo’s Impact on Career, How He Met His Wife
Tanzanian singer and songwriter Juma Mkambala, popularly known as Juma Jux, has opened up on the role Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo and his wife, Priscilla Ojo, have played in boosting his music career since their marriage.
The “Thank You’ crooner made the disclosure in an interview with Yanga FM ahead of his first concert in Lagos on Thursday.
Speaking on how his marriage has influenced his career, Juma Jux, who won the East African Artist of the Year award at the 17th Headies Awards, said both Priscilla and her mother have significantly increased his visibility, particularly in Nigeria.

He noted that although he already had a solid fan base, the relationship has expanded his reach. “On a scale of 10, I can rate the impact Iyabo Ojo and Priscilla have had on my career as six or seven. I was already a star, even in Nigeria, and some people knew me before, but now the fame is more because Priscilla and I are together,” he said.

The singer also revealed that he was initially unaware of Priscilla’s celebrity status when they met. According to him, he only realised her popularity after social media users reacted to photos of them together.
“I met Priscilla in Rwanda. I didn’t know she was a celebrity. It was love at first sight. When she came to Tanzania and we went to Zanzibar and took pictures, that was when I realised, after seeing many blogs posting about her. I was wowed,” Juma added.
