THECONSCIENCE NG reports that A tragic incident struck the Edun area of Ilorin, Kwara State, last Friday as a 43-year-old man, identified only as Kazeem, reportedly lost his life after allegedly consuming a hard drug known locally as Colo (short for Colorado) and jumping into a well.

Eyewitnesses and local sources said the shocking event occurred shortly after Kazeem returned from Eid prayers in the morning. Under the influence of the psychoactive substance, he was said to have suddenly leapt into a domestic well located at Alapo Compound in the Edun neighborhood.

Adekunle added that preliminary findings indicated Kazeem had allegedly consumed Colo shortly before the fatal incident.

The victim’s body was later handed over to Inspector Babatunde Amos of the ‘C’ Division of the Nigeria Police Force in Ilorin. Authorities are currently awaiting formal identification and claims by his family.

In response to the incident, the Director of the Kwara State Fire Service, Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa, issued a public warning on the dangers of drug abuse. He emphasized the rising toll of substance misuse and called for more awareness and preventive efforts.
