Why OSRA Award is Not For The Richest – Chairman, Aare Alabi
The Chief Executive Officer of Westend Global Limited and Chairman of OSRA Awards 2022, Aare Olamilekan Yusuf Alabi, has revealed that the prestigious award was not targeted at the richest people.
Aare Alabi explained that the idea of the annual culture award in its 3rd year was to reward and honour outstanding Nigerians who have excellently impacted humanity in their various fields of endeavours.
He noted that the decision explains why the award spreads across various classes and categories of people and was domiciled in Ile Ife under the leadership of HIM, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi.

Alabi said, “The OSRA award ceremony is to encourage the development of the society and to encourage people who are doing well home and abroad to make them do more. It’s for those developing the society.
He added that, “HIM, The Ooni of Ife is the most prominent supporter backing the event and winners are not necessarily wealthy people but those that have genuinely contributed to the development of the society. It’s not about money but support for the society across all spheres of life. Entrepreneurs, artistes and other professionals have been winning the award.
He stated that organisers cherish the promotion of Yoruba culture and heritage and that was the reason the award plaque was designed in form of an ancient relic of the Yoruba’s sacred Ori Olokun.
The OSRA Awards holds annually in Ile Ife, Osun State as organised by Mr Gbenga Emmanuel Adeleke, Publisher, Intercontinental and Oonirisa Magazine.
