Nigeria@60: NGIJ President Hails, Nigerians, Restates Commitment To Investigative Journalism
The National President of the Nigerian Guild of Investigative Journalism (NGIJ), Mojoyinola Ayoyemi, has felicitated with Nigerians as the country celebrates 60th Anniversary.
The NGIJ President in a statement issued by Mallam AbdulRahman Aliagan, the guild’s National General Secretary on Thursday, October 1st, 2020 noted that there are many reasons to celebrate Nigeria @60 despite numerous challenges facing the nation.
Mojoyinola urged the citizens to be patriotic, law abiding and contribute their quota towards nation building, adding that government alone can’t make Nigeria great.
The NGIJ President urges the Government to focus more on education, security, health, technology, youths development, and effective implementation of policies to the letter and block leakages.
He also urged the government to not relent on its battle to kick out covid-19 from Nigeria by consistently educating the public and assisting the most vulnerable with tangible palliative measures as well as support for dying enterprises.

He, however, reiterated NGIJ’s commitment to use Investigative Journalism to promote accountability, transparency and strengthen good governance in the country.

”The Nigerian Guild of Investigative Journalists (NGIJ) will continue to contribute its quota towards nation building and development by harnessing investigative Journalism to promote accountability, transparency and good governance.
