NAF Opens Recruitment For DSSC 34/2025
THECONSCIENCE NG reports that the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced the commencement of its Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) Course 34/2025 recruitment exercise, inviting qualified graduates and postgraduates across various professions to apply.
According to an official statement, the online registration portal will open on Wednesday, 27 August 2025, and will close on Tuesday, 7 October 2025. Applications are free of charge and must be submitted via the recruitment portal at [www.nafrecruitment.airforce.mil.ng](http://www.nafrecruitment.airforce.mil.ng).
The DSSC scheme offers graduates the opportunity to serve as commissioned officers in specialised roles within the Air Force. Eligibility criteria require applicants to be Nigerian citizens aged between 20 and 32 years, except for medical doctors (consultants), who may apply up to the age of 40. Applicants must also be medically, physically, and psychologically fit, and free of any previous criminal convictions.
Further requirements stipulate that male candidates must not be less than 1.66m in height, while the minimum height for female candidates is 1.63m. Serving personnel must have completed at least five years of service and attained the rank of corporal.
Academic qualifications demand a minimum of Second Class Upper Division for degree holders and Upper Credit for HND holders, while medical applicants must present proof of registration with statutory professional bodies. A valid NYSC discharge certificate or exemption letter is mandatory at the time of application.
Zonal aptitude tests will be conducted at a later date, with details published on the NAF recruitment portal. Only shortlisted candidates will be invited for further selection interviews.
The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal AH Bakari, reaffirmed that no fees are charged for the application process and warned that incomplete or falsified documents would lead to disqualification.
The DSSC exercise is targeted at professionals across fields including medicine, engineering, and administration, offering candidates a pathway to contribute to national defence and security.
