Expert, Awaye Highlights Imperatives of AI Adoption in Education
AI expert and Chief Executive Officer of Kini AI, Rotimi Awaye, has urged educational leaders, instructors and stakeholders to spearhead a faster adoption of artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies in Nigeria.
He noted that the benefits to various areas of life can not be overemphasissd.

Addressing delegates at the Ife Education Conference 3.0 in Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, Awaye underscored the remarkable potentials of AI to revolutionise the educational landscape.
He urged educators to embrace these innovations to significantly enhance the teaching and learning experience.

“We cannot afford to lag behind in the adoption of AI,” he stated emphatically. “Professionals in fields such as computer science, media, and business are already capitalising on these transformative tools. As educators responsible for shaping the next generation of professionals, it is imperative that we are proactive in learning and implementing these technologies ourselves.”
Awaye highlighted that a sense of curiosity and a readiness to engage with technology are essential, irrespective of one’s academic credentials. “A science degree is not a prerequisite for understanding artificial intelligence. Begin with small steps, become familiar with the technology, and prepare yourself for the disruptions that are reshaping industries across the globe,” he advised.
In his capacity as CEO, Awaye is at the forefront of initiatives aimed at empowering businesses and institutions throughout Africa to leverage artificial intelligence for innovation, efficiency, and growth.
His call aligns with the increasing consensus that Nigeria’s educational sector must take an active role in cultivating a workforce equipped for a digital-driven future.
The conference, with the theme “The Ripple Effect: How Education Fuels Progress in Every Sector”, brought together key stakeholders from academia, technology, and business to examine how education can serve as a catalyst for sustainable development across various industries.
The insights shared underscore the urgent need for swift adoption in Nigeria, positioning the nation to harness the vast benefits that these technologies promise.
