Ahead of the 2026 governorship election in Ekiti State, Governor Biodun Oyebanji has expressed confidence that his political future is in God’s hands, stating that he is not fearful or losing sleep over what lies ahead.
Speaking on Friday night at the monthly Evening of Praise and Worship at the Jibowu Hall, Government House, Ado-Ekiti, Governor Oyebanji emphasized that God, who helped him in 2022, will again work things in his favor in 2026.
THECONSCIENCE NG reports that the Governor dismissed concerns from politicians sending him text messages about the 2026 election, reiterating that God’s plan supersedes any human agenda, and he would not be troubled.
Reflecting on his administration’s achievements, Oyebanji attributed progress across key sectors to divine intervention, despite the state’s economic challenges. He noted that since handing over the state to God, Ekiti has enjoyed peace, progress, and prosperity.
The Governor reaffirmed his focus on delivering good governance and fulfilling his promises to the people of Ekiti. “God is in charge of everything, including the 2026 election. For now, let us concentrate on our work and do it well,” he said.
He further reassured those worried about 2026, stating, “God that did the last one will do it again. Don’t bother yourselves. Some complain I am not a politician, but nothing is going to stop my peace because I serve the God of peace.”
The November edition of the Evening of Praise and Worship event was attended by the Speaker of the State Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye, members of the state assembly, executive council members, government appointees, top civil servants, Christian leaders, and the general public.
