Members of the Was-Lat Schools Old Students’ Association (WSOSA), at the weekend, gathered to honour their former teacher, administrator, and proprietor of Was-Lat Schools, Lagos, Dr Wasiu Adumadeyein, on his thirty years professional anniversary.
The event which held at Onikan youth centre had droves of students, teachers, alumni and guests in colourful native attires, and also witnessed various performances by students and a mini- documentary
Describing Adumadeyein as a nation builder who nurtured and groomed them into becoming successful citizens through his services both in public and private schools, the old students stressed the need for alumni association to reward excellence and diligence.
In his remarks, chairman planning committee, Mr Toheed Olaope said WSOSA provided an opportunity to celebrate 30 years of teaching profession of the teacher, father, author and mentor.
The celebrant also launched a book titled Cybercrime (Yahoo-Yahoo) Among Teenagers in Nigeria, to commemorate the occasion
The book reviewer, a former student of Was-Lat Schools, Dr Olumide Olugbemi-Gabriel, of the Department of Language and Literary Studies, Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti, highlighted popular vices among Nigerian youths triggered by the culture of internet and digital space.

Also speaking at the event, the National President, National Association of private school proprietors, Chief Yomi said, the group was excited to celebrate one of their own who has been outstanding.
He said: “We are here to identify with, celebrate and witness a celebration of 30 years of impactful and selfless services to humanity from a dedicated teacher, administrator and author.
“This is a man worthy to be celebrated in the affairs of education especially private schools.”
Commenting on the new book, he added that, “Cybercrime is also worthy of note as it touches on morals and values that form the foundation of raising children. I encourage parents to get the book, read and draw lessons to cater for their children to avoid falling into cyber crimes.”
Mr M. T, Amusa , President NAPPS , Lagos state chapter and Chairman, CEO OMAR Group of Schools, also said he was in attendance to celebrate “our man, boss, and a visionary leader that is marking 30th anniversary of being a teacher and proprietor of a private school, who has impacted and touched so many lives to rejoice with him.”
“The old students in both public and private schools, whom the celebrant has raised decided to organise and celebrated him while still alive. Today, many of them are successful professionals including medical doctors, chartered accountant, professor, IT guru and musicians.”
Mr Micheal O. Richard , Chairman, Lagos Island NAPPS, and Proprietor of Greats Private school noted that it was a privilege to celebrate a dedicated teacher who has produced excellent products.
The celebrant then expressed gratitude to WSOSA and all dignitaries for honouring him, promising to continue to add value to humanity.
