The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested two individuals in connection with the death of a motorcycle rider whose body was discovered on March 5, 2025, along Dosho Village near Darazo.
According to a press release from the Bauchi State Police Command, officers responded to a report that a motionless body had been found with multiple injuries. Upon arriving at the scene, a team led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Darazo transferred the body to the General Hospital, Darazo, where it was confirmed that the victim, later identified as 25-year-old Dauda Manu, had died.
“Upon receiving the report, a team of detectives visited the scene and evacuated the body, which was later confirmed dead by a medical doctor at the General Hospital, Darazo,” the police stated.
The police are continuing their investigation to uncover the full circumstances surrounding the victim’s death.
Through a detailed investigation, authorities discovered that Dauda Manu had been seen riding his motorcycle, a boxer model, on March 4, 2025, with two unknown men. The investigation intensified and it was learned that the motorcycle, which belonged to Manu, was found in the possession of one Yau Buba, a 25-year-old from Minchika Village, Darazo LGA.
Yau Buba was arrested in Gombe State on March 20, 2025, with a motorcycle. During questioning, Buba admitted to purchasing the bike for 250,000 Naira from another individual, 22-year-old Buba Muhammadu, also from Minchika Village, who was arrested the following day.
“The suspects were arrested following a painstaking investigation. Yau Buba confessed to buying the motorcycle from Buba Muhammadu, and further investigation led to Muhammadu’s arrest,” the police explained.
The case has now been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), where a discreet investigation will continue to shed light on the events leading to Manu’s death and the suspects will face charges in court.
