The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted sunshine and thunderstorms from Wednesday to Friday across several parts of the nation.
NiMet’s weather output released on Tuesday in Abuja predicted cloudy skies on Wednesday with intervals of sunshine over the northern region in the morning hours with prospects of thunderstorms over Kebbi, Zamfara, Kano and Kaduna states.
The agency forecast thunderstorms over parts of Bauchi, Kebbi, Gombe, Kano, Katsina and Taraba state later in the day.
“The North central region is expected to be cloudy with chances of rains over parts of Nasarawa, the Federal Capital Territory and Kogi during the morning hours.
NiMet predicted rains over parts of Ebonyi, Abia, Imo, Rivers, Delta and Akwa Ibom state during the afternoon and evening hours.
The agency anticipated cloudy skies with intervals of sunshine over the northern region on Friday with prospects of thunderstorms over parts of Taraba, Borno, Bauchi, Yobe Adamawa and Kebbi in the morning hours.
The agency said thunderstorms are expected over parts of Kano, Adamawa, Katsina, Bauchi, Kebbi, Jigawa and Yobe later in the day.
“Cloudy atmosphere is anticipated over the North-Central region with prospects of rains over Kogi, Benue, Plateau and Nasarawa during the morning hours.
“Thunderstorms are expected over parts of Niger, Kogi and Benue during the afternoon and evening hours.
“The inland and the coastal cities of the South are expected to be cloudy chances of the rain over Akwa Ibom state in the morning hours,” it said.
It further said there will be rains over parts of Ebonyi, Imo, Abia, Enugu, Rivers, Delta and Cross River later in the day.
