Former Liverpool captain, Steven Gerrard, and his Real Madrid counterpart Iker Casillas have predicted the Champions League final between the Premier League side and Real Madrid.
According to Gerrard, the Reds will win the game in Paris 2-0.
He made this prediction in a video message on the club’s official Twitter account.
Gerrard lifted the Champions League title with Liverpool in 2005.
The current Aston Villa manager was filming from inside the Stade the France, where he was in attendance for Liverpool’s final training session before the grand final.
“Hopefully it’ll be a fantastic game and I predict a 2-0 Liverpool win,” Gerrard said
On his part, legendary Madrid goal keeper, Iker Casillas has backed the club to beat Liverpool and win the UEFA Champions League when both teams clash in the Champions League final.
Casillas believes Real Madrid must win their Champions League final against Liverpool in Paris because they are missing the cherry.
The Spaniard said that Real Madrid’s iconic comeback victories against Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Manchester City this season will mean nothing if they don’t beat the Premier League giants in the final at the Stade de France.
“The comebacks are all very well, but now you have to secure it, we are missing the cherry. If you don’t secure that cherry, the cake won’t be complete, no?
“If the cup doesn’t arrive in the cabinet, nobody will remember what happened with PSG, Chelsea and with Manchester City. In order to be thrilling, it has to be until the end, with the prize,” Casillas told Marca (via Mail).
