I Sold Human Head For N25k- Suspected Ritualist Confesses
The Oyo state Police Command on December 7, 2021 paraded 43 criminals including a man and his accomplice who allegedly conspired to exhume an unidentified corpse and cut the head for rituals.
The suspect, Abideen Raheem (42) disclosed that he was paid a sum of twenty five thousand naira for providing his friend with the human head.
“I actually helped my friend who contacted me that he needed human head for money ritual. I cut the the head with a knife, and gave my friend who told me that he needs it for money ritual”.
“I exhumed the head from one public cementary in Olunde area of Ibadan on Saturday and immediately I got it, I called my friend Moruf Ganiyu to come and pick it. He was arrested with the head on his way home I learnt. It was his arrest that led to my arrest,” Raheem said.
Moruf Ganiyu in his words also admitted to have sent his friend to get the head for him.
“I discussed the issue with my friend, Raheem and he promised to get me the head. Upon getting it, he called me that it was ready. I collected it and paid him the sum of N25,000 for his job,” Ganiyu said.
When asked on what he needed human head for, Ganiyu said it was to be used for money ritual.
Briefing journalists on the development, the state Commissioner of Police, CP. Ngozi Onadeko fdc confirmed that the suspected criminals were arrested for unlawful possession of human head.
“On Monday 06/12/2021 at about 1217hrs, operatives attached to Mapo Divisional Police Headquarters while on intensive and intelligence driven Patrols around Popoyemoja and Idi-Arere areas apprehended one Moruf Ganiyu ‘m’ age, 50yrs of 56 Omikunle Ilupeju area Ibadan who had in his possession a human head concealed in a Nylon Bag.
She stated further that Raheem confessed to the crime and claimed the human head was exhumed from Abode Cementry along Akanran Road, Ibadan, and sold to him by one Abideen Raheem ‘m’ of Ile-Sheu, Olomi-Ibadan at the rate of #25,000 (twenty-five thousand) for the purpose of money rituals.
