Top performing companies in Nigeria, including Seplat Petroleum Development, Nestle and Zenith bank have won various awards at the prestigious PEARL awards, with Seplat bagging four awards in its kitty and emerging the biggest winner.
The President, PEARL Awards Nigeria, Mr Tayo Orekoya, said the Awards was designed to reward and recognise outstanding performances by renowned companies in Nigeria “based on veritable facts and figures. ”
The award ceremony, which was graced by regulators, leaders and key stakeholders in the capital market, had Seplat Petroleum Development Company Limited winning the top award for the second year in a row, with Zenith Bank, Nestle Nigeria, Learn Africa, and many other notable companies emerging winners in the Awards Nominee list.
The PEARL Awards remains the only award in Nigeria that rewards outstanding performance of quoted companies in the Nigerian Capital Market based on veritable facts and figures. We remain humbled that our impartiality, fairness, transparency and unbiasedness have continued to endear us to major stakeholders in the capital market,” he said.
It is gratifying to note that in spite of the tight and challenging business environment, some quoted companies have continued to deliver superior performance, quantum leap in bottom lines and good returns returns to shareholders. On this note, we promise to remain committed to uphold and be sustainably guided by these principles.”
Apart from winning the overall PEARL Awards for 2019, SEPLAT also clinched three other awards: Sectoral Awards for the Oil and Gas Segment, Highest Net Ratio Award; while its Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Austin Avuru emerged as the CEO of the Year.
Meanwhile, Seplat continues to stretch its winning streak, clinching the Best Indigenous Exhibitor award also at the just concluded 37th Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists, NAPE’s Annual International Conference and Exhibition held in Lagos.
