EFCC Declares foreign National Wanted Over Alleged CBEX Scam

THECONSCIENCE NG reports that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared 41-year-old Elie Bitar, a foreign national, wanted for his alleged involvement in a cryptocurrency fraud scheme executed through the online trading platform, Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX).

In a public notice accompanied by Bitar’s photograph, the EFCC announced that he is being sought for his alleged role in defrauding unsuspecting investors across Nigeria via the CBEX platform.

 

The statement reads:

“The public is hereby notified that ELIE BITAR, whose photograph appears above, is wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for fraud allegedly perpetrated on an online trading platform called Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX).”

Bitar’s last known address, according to the Commission, is Eng. George Enemoh Crescent, Lekki Phase 1, Lekki, Lagos State.

 

The EFCC is urging anyone with useful information about his whereabouts to report to any of its zonal offices located in Ibadan, Uyo, Sokoto, Maiduguri, Benin, Makurdi, Kaduna, Ilorin, Enugu, Kano, Lagos, Gombe, Port Harcourt, or Abuja.
