Covid-19: Nigeria Records 423 New Cases, As Death Toll Rises

Covid-19 cases in Nigeria continues to rise with 423 new confirmed cases recorded on Tuesday, according to government authorities. 

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, in an official tweet, late Tuesday, said the total cases now stand at 47,290 with 956 casualties recorded while 33,609 have been discharged after recovering fully and testing negative to the deadly virus.

The report indicates that Lagos continues to lead the pack sadly with 117 fresh cases followed by FCT with 40 cases and Ondo with 35 while Edo, Bauchi and Nasarawa states recorded only one case each from the 423 cases on Tuesday.

Oyo and Taraba both had 3 cases each with the Southern part of the country on the overall with the worrisome lion share of the global pandemic.

While Lagos and FCT continue to rank as hotbed or epicenter, neighbouring Ondo and Osun,  Rivers and Benue, Ogun, Ebonyi and Abia also calls for more concerted efforts as they continue to record new cases despite their comparatively lower cosmopolitan status and influx of people.
