Covid-19 cases continue to drop significantly in Lagos and South West but sadly picked up in Plateau State axis of Nigeria.
Confirmed cases have significantly dropped in most South West states except Oyo and in the Northern States except Plateau, as Nigeria recorded 296 fresh confirmed cases on Thursday.
This was contained in an official tweet by the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control late Thursday, TheConscience reports.
The government authorities said Nigeria has confirmed at least 53,317 with 1011 casualties recorded while 40,726 have been discharged after recovering fully and testing negative to the deadly virus as at Thursday August 27.

The report indicates that Lagos has stopped leading the pack and cease to be the epicenter with only 21 fresh cases, a departure from a long record of at least over 100 or 200 cases daily in the state. Ogun, Osun Kwara recorded 4,4 and 5 new cases respectively while Oyo and Ekiti recorded 31 and 11 cases respectively.
Bauchi had 12 cases and FCT with 15 and Edo and Bayelsa states recorded no cases each from the total 296 cases on Thursday.
Enugu, Rivers and Akwa Ibom states recorded 46, 20 and 7 fresh cases respectively with the Southern part of the country on the overall leading the share but slowing down drastically with lower new cases in most cases of the Coronavirus pandemic in the country with Plateau in an isolated lead.
Nigeria has began to make gains with the drastic drops in some hotbeds of the pandemic but the disgruntled public now abandon health protocols on Coronavirus or takes solace in conspiracy theories owing to deep seated mistrust for government occasioned by years of official corruption, inconsistent policies, volatile politics and decay of public infrastructure.
