BREAKING: Covid-19 Kills Rachael Oniga, Popular Nollywood Actress

Popular Nollywood veteran, Rachael Oniga, is dead, THECONSCIENCEng confirms.

According to an available report, Oniga, 64, reportedly slumped and died late on Friday evening. According to her Wikipedia page, “Rachael Oniga died on 30 July 2021 from COVID-19 complications amid Covid 19 pandemic”

She was however said to have been on a movie location this week in Mowe area of Ogun State.

Rachel Oniga, according to available reports, has taken part in over 1,000 movies. She has also featured in many television drama series and stage plays.

Originally from Eku, Delta State in Southern Nigeria, She was born on 23 May 1957 in Ebute Metta, Lagos State. She began her acting career in 1993, shortly after her divorce. She worked briefly at Ascoline Nigeria Limited, a Dutch Consultant Company before her first movie titled Onome and her debut Yoruba movie was Owo Blow. Over the years, Oniga has featured in notable Nigerian films such as Sango, a movie scripted by Wale Ogunyemi, produced and directed by Obafemi Lasode and Wale Adenuga’s television series, Super story. Rachael Oniga became a grandmother when her daughter Georgia delivered a baby in 2014.
