Organisers have revealed plans to host the much awaited ASA DAY 2024 celebration in November, in a grand style.
The CEO, Queen Temitope Adeshina in a media chat said the annual event seeks to celebrate Africa’s rich culture and tradition and has over the last 3 years recorded great success.
She explained: “The event is regarded as the biggest celebration to be organized by any diasporan community in the United States.
At first, people where sceptical to be part of it, because of the huge financial commitment and human dedication it required.”
The convener stated further that the project has been successful due to efforts of impressive organizing members, who believed in her dreams of a United Nigeria and supported the project.

Adeshina urged other African Communities to be part of the events, adding that it has been recognised by the city of Newark, New Jersey as the only event in Diaspora that has brought various ethnic and interest groups together to showcase the rich values in culture and tradition of Africa.
“Mayors and Council men from different cities have benefitted from this project, they are able to express themselves and also solicit for help from African communities when the need arise, they have also received awards at the 2nd edition of the celebration.
“This years celebration will be bigger and better, as Board members that will serve as organizers have just been selected and will sworn in soon.
“Traditional rulers expected at this years event include the Ooni of ife, The Oniru of Iru Land, Oniba of iba land, the Onipokia of Ipokia kingdom, The Olu Orile Kemta, Oba Saheed Elegushi and many others.
“Two serving governors are also expected at this event, they include Babajide Sanw-Olu, the Governor of Lagos State, and Ademola Adeleke, the Governor of Osun state,” she noted.
