(VIDEO) Angry Mob Sets Access Bank on Fire

A video has surfaced showing a branch of Access Bank on fire.

THECONSCIENCEng gathered that the distressed location is the Warri branch of the bank around Udu express junction, Udu Local Government Area of Delta State.

Angry citizens in Orhuwhorun Community in Udu Local Government Area of the state on Wednesday reportedly torched the bank when they took to the streets and major roads over the hardship in the country.

Many bank customers are currently unhappy and becoming restless across the nation over the scarcity of new naira notes and inability of banks to dispense cash to customers through the halls or the ATM machines following the new CBN cash swap program.

Disturbing images and reports of angry customers going naked in protest at banking premises abound.

To vent, the angry mob in Delta set the branch of access Bank on fire and also destroyed some campaign billboards.

Meanwhile, the police have mounted roadblocks around the DSC Town with the intention of stopping angry protesters from setting ablaze any government property.

In a reaction, the Governor of Delta and Vice-Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ifeanyi Okowa, has appealed to citizens of the state and Nigerians to remain calm amidst the scarcity of the new naira notes in the country.
