THECONSCIENCE NG reports that this development was announced on Sunday in a statement by Abdur-Rahman Balogun, spokesperson for the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM).
In a congratulatory message, NiDCOM Chairperson Abike Dabiri-Erewa praised the four officials for their accomplishments and commended their dedication to public service. “Their achievements are setting new standards and breaking records within the political landscapes of their respective communities,” she stated, celebrating their contributions to their adopted countries and the global Nigerian diaspora.
In the United States, Dr. Oye Owolewa was re-elected as the Shadow Representative for the District of Columbia, under the Democratic Party. Owolewa’s role involves advocating for Washington, DC’s interests, focusing particularly on the ongoing pursuit of statehood and local governance rights.
Similarly, Segun Adeyina retained his seat as the State Representative for Georgia’s District 110.
With an extensive background in IT program and project management, Adeyina has worked with top Fortune 500 companies such as General Motors, Ascension Health System, and Hewlett Packard.
His leadership has been instrumental in driving initiatives for community development within Georgia.
